About Roger
Roger Fletcher is a longtime band director, composer of music for school and professional bands, and trumpet player. He has performed with recording artists Cher, Paul Anka, Louis Bellson, the O'Jays, and many more.  In addition to his teaching career, in what he affectionately calls his 13-year sabbatical, he was an enlisted member of the US Air Force Academy Band where he was featured as a trumpeter, vocalist, and composer/arranger.

Having retired from teaching, he still wants to impact the experience of band students and their directors through outstanding music and other resources.

Roger has presented a clinic entitled “Jazz Improv, It’s for Everyone” at the Colorado Music Educators Association convention and a session called “Improv- It’s Not Just for Jazzers Any More: Meeting the Improvisation Standard in Your Concert Groups” at the California Association of Independent Schools annual conference.

He lives with his wife and two dogs in the natural beauty outside Santa Fe, New Mexico,  where he is an active member of the musical community.
